The 12-volt battery is the unglamorous hybrid killer. The car will not ready, the dash is fireworks, and everyone blames the traction pack. We test the 12-volt side before anyone talks about a high-voltage pack. That is not a sales pitch; it is the sequence.

A hybrid that only does school loops in First Colony can coke oil, grow a noisy engine on cold start, and still look “efficient” on the MPG screen.
