A photo of the station license is on the homepage. We are not inventing a certificate number on this page; the paper is in the shop and on that image.
Most gasoline passenger vehicles registered in Texas emissions counties — including Fort Bend County and Harris County — need a state emissions inspection as part of registration. That covers a large share of Sugar Land, Four Corners, Missouri City, Stafford, Richmond, Rosenberg, Mission Bend, Meadows Place, Katy-area routes, Fresno, and much of the Houston metro. Rules follow Texas DPS, not our preference. Some vehicles (for example many pure EVs) may be treated differently under current state guidance. If you are unsure, bring the vehicle and the registration county and we will run the correct program.
For modern OBD-II cars, the inspection is not a “sniff the tailpipe for fun” show. It is a communication with the computer plus a set of readiness and safety items DPS requires. Depending on year, fuel type, and configuration, that can include:
You get an on-site report. If it fails, you leave knowing why — not with a shrug and a “try again next week.”
Check-engine light commanded on. If the MIL is on, an OBD emissions test typically fails. Do not pay for a test you already know will bounce. Scan first. Our diagnostics page explains how we treat a code as a clue, not a parts list. Related reading: failed emission test and the check-engine light.
Incomplete monitors. A recent battery disconnect, a cleared computer, or a car that only does two-mile school runs may not have finished its self-tests. The light can be off and you can still be not-ready. Drive cycle matters. If you just had a battery replaced in this heat, tell us before we start the official test.
No appointment for inspection. Come during hours. If the shop is in the middle of a lift-kit or a diagnostic that has the lane blocked, you may wait a few minutes — that is a real garage, not a sticker kiosk with one job. Combining inspection with an oil change or a brake check is common; say so when you pull in so we plan the bay.
Bring the vehicle that needs the sticker, current insurance if asked, and any prior fail printout. If you already failed elsewhere, bring that paper. Repeating a test without fixing the cause wastes your $18.50 and an afternoon on West Bellfort.
We can diagnose the reason and estimate repair. Common neighbors of an inspection fail here: EVAP leaks, oxygen-sensor / fuel-trim issues, misfires that also threaten the catalytic converter, and exhaust leaks that confuse monitors. See catalytic converter, plugs and coils, and exhaust. We will not invent a pass rate or a “we always pass you” claim. The computer either is ready or it is not.
English, Spanish, and Chinese at the counter. If you want the repair booked after the fail, use book.html or call. More context: what to know about Texas inspection.

In most OBD emissions tests, a commanded-on MIL fails. Incomplete readiness monitors can also prevent a pass. Scan before you pay for a test you expect to fail.
Yes for eligible cars and light trucks at this state-certified station. Flat price $18.50 as posted on the site.
Most gasoline passenger vehicles registered in those emissions counties do. Follow current Texas DPS rules for your vehicle type.
